As a young person, or young adult; what is your definition as a leader? Or a better question will be; have you ever thought of yourself as the future leaders of our community, and nations around the world? In life there are people or positions that society or your older peers, parents and teachers have clearly defined as a leaders or a top position of leadership and this is true to a certain extent. The truth is this: every single child or teenager is a potential leader. This could be at your school, at home or in whatever activities you do; makes you a leader. Some of you young people might think that you are not good enough or smart enough to call yourself a leader or a future leader of our nation.
That is because there has been some misunderstanding on what a real leader is.
Let me ask you a few questions? Do you go to school? Do you have others siblings or family members that you see every day, are you good at sports, or maths, science, English or history; do you love playing a particular instruments, drama or speaking in front of the crow; is there something you are good at or can do really well that others cannot do as well as you. Well I have good news for you, YOU ARE A LEADER. You don’t have to be in high position to know you are a leader. All you need is to value yourself and know who you; understanding you are important and therefore whatever you do, wherever you go, someone will be influenced by you or changed by you. A leader is someone who is conscious of the impact and influence they can have on others, their community or nation.
Therefore, the point of this article is to bring you to the consciousness of your leadership (influence and impact) so you can experience long term success in every area of your life. As you know, here at IReflectMedia; we train children and the youth in having a deeper understanding of their self-value; we also recognize that one of the ways we can do that for you is by showing you that as the future generation there is ability and that is the ability is of that of influence and therefore leadership. For that reason, It is vital that you understand your self-value, and your importance as a person once you have a positive image of yourself on the inside (understanding that you are important, special, gifted and talented as an individual); you have a strong foundation to lead (influence) others in the right direction. Therefore, it is easier for others to follow you and to be impacted by you positively if you love and appreciate yourself. Thus automatically eliminating the negative influences that might have been present in your life whether it is at school, at home with your friends.
So, you see, you are very important, and you can probably think of 10s maybe 100s, of other young people, children and adults that you influenced today after reading this. It could be a simple ‘hello’, ‘excuse me’ or ‘thank you’; Let us encourage you that that is a good thing; because it means you are more conscious of the power you have inside of you and around you to make someone else’s life better and that starts by understanding how special, unique and valuable you are first. You are the future leaders of our nations. Knowing who you are and understanding that your valuable will help you to understand your purpose in life, the reason for your existence which will enable you to influence and lead others in a great direction including the older the generation.
